Intern / Student

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Working Student / Intern – Electric Propulsion, you support the development, integration, and testing of our electric powertrain system, including electric motors and inverters. By that you contribute directly to bringing our eVTOL aircraft to flight readiness.

You work closely with experienced engineers and gain hands-on insight into requirements engineering, system design, and system integration, bridging hardware and software in a real aerospace development environment. From supporting lab testing to participating in flight test preparations, you will see how complex systems evolve from concept to flight.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support the integration of electric propulsion components and assist in system and component testing
  • Contribute to the preparation and execution of ground and flight tests
  • Support in the evaluation and analysis of collected test data
  • Support the team in improving technical concepts, tools, and methods

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in Aerospace or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Academic or project-based experience related to your responsibilities described above
  • Strong motivation to work with hardware and software and get them ready to fly
  • Structured and reliable way of working, with the ability to work both in a team and independently
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and technical writing skills

Moreover, it would be helpful if you also have

  • Hands-on experience from university projects (e.g., UAVs, robotics, or embedded systems)
  • Basic understanding of electric propulsion systems
  • Experience with programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
  • Knowledge about lab testing, electronics, or system integration

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Full-scale aerospace engineering, not concept slides
  • A 60+ engineer team at Ottobrunn
  • Real ownership and flat hierarchies: a modern startup culture where your input shapes decisions, not just execution
  • Flexible working hours, remote work, and competitive compensation
  • Health & wellbeing: EGYM Wellpass membership and subsidized lunch in our canteen
  • Office extras: espresso coffee, fresh fruit, and soft drinks, plus regular team and company events, and plenty more once you're on board
